People want to be considered Hero’s, but it takes great personal sacrifice to actually be a Hero. My beagle didn’t start out named Hero, he earned that title. This is a folk song that I wrote to remember him and the sacrifices that others make to become Heroes.
It was performed at the March 2023 Middletown Art Center open mic show. Every 1st Friday of each month they host a show with some great musicians. Last Friday the band Sun Moon performed along with several local artists. The center itself has some really cool art that rotates throughout the year. It a slice of small town Americana in a place where small towns are rare. Definitely worth checking out if you ever find yourself in Middletown California.
