I was too young to remember the first time I heard the phrase snakes snails and puppy dog tails but it always seemed an apt description for my life. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a home with six brothers and 1 sister and when we weren’t engaged in rock fights, hiking, sports or general tom foolery, we were busy growing up in an idealistic environment filled with love, animals and nature.
When I first started writing my album, I kept vacillating between songs about adventure, hunting and all kinds of of boys things and songs that were about love and tenderness and softness. By the time I finished writing my album it was pretty clear that there was a theme and so instead of releasing a single album, I decided to start with two. One that highlights the lessons I’ve learned in life on my adventures and another that highlights the beautiful treasures that I’ve found along my way.
Whether you’re in the mood for heroic ballads about beagles or sweet songs about beagles’ love, there is a little something for everybody on my first two releases.
